Pioneering Cell-Cultivated Cocoa

Food Brewer is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge cell culture technology. A sustainable and climate-independent solution to grow cocoa, that could complement traditional farming. Food Brewer aims to bring its first products to market in the near future.

The innovative process begins with harvesting cells from a cocoa bean, which are then placed on a nutrient gel to regenerate and form a callus. After two weeks, microscopic analysis and artificial intelligence help select the optimal cells, which are transferred to a bioreactor containing a nutrient-rich solution. Over several days, the biomass grows until it is ready for harvest. The final steps involve drying and roasting the biomass to produce cocoa powder.
